Salou has expanded its cultural heritage with a fourth historical route, focusing on the Porroig machine gun nests. These well-preserved bunkers showcase Cap Salou’s historical strategic value and now serve as a site for peace and reflection.

Very close to Easter, the City of Salou has presented "Salou, the history continues", the new tourist product that affects the millenary history of the capital of the Costa Dorada. The project will soon be completed with the future Neolithic Route, which is already being developed, to point out loud and clear that Salou is much more than a sun and beach destination.

The Cos Blanc in Salou is one of the most emblematic festivals on the Costa Dorada and is unique for its spectacular nature. In Salou you live well but you will still live better because the City of Salou has received 11 million euros, from the Next Generation Funds, to make a more sustainable and resilient municipality from the environmental, economic and social point of view. The projects for 2021 are already executed in 90% and those for 2023, in 45%.

From March 2025 to February 2026, every month of the year will be a non-stop cultural event in Salou, the Capital of Catalan Culture. The Cos Blanc is a unique festival, characteristic of Salou and without a doubt it is the most emblematic and main event of the main winter festival of the capital of the Costa Dorada. This 2024, it is celebrated on Saturday, February 3, and also brings an important novelty: the change of location. 

“Els pirates de Salou” is an entertaining book published by the Salou City Council, with illustrations by Pilarín Bayés, with more than 100 stories or historical notes about pirates and corsairs, who attacked the coast of Salou for 400 years.

From September 1 to 4, 2022, one of the most unique festivals in Salou is celebrated: the Rei Jaume I Festival, which arrives accompanied by cultural activities and the Medieval Market, as well as a royal procession, set in the 13th century, that runs through the main streets of Salou to the beach. Javier Gurruchaga, from the Mondragón Orchestra, the group Efecto Pasillo and Maldita Nerea will star in the 3 great concerts of the Nits Daurades de Salou, the Fiesta Mayor of the capital of the Costa Dorada that includes a program with more than 70 free events, all 8 to August 15.

The festival of Sant Jordi will host this year a number of activities organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Salou, which will have a family and cultural spirit. The Sant Jordi square will be the epicenter of this celebration, since it concentrates the greatest number of activities prepared for all audiences.

From 3 to 6 September Salou celebrates the king Jaime I to commemorate the conquest of Mallorca from the Saracens by the monarch in 1229, when he went with his ships from the port of the capital of the Costa Dorada. This year, the program includes as a novelty one "mapping" that explain this historical fact, and other musical shows, a medieval market and gastronomic route.
