Salou lights up a crocheted Christmas tree
Salou has joined the crochet trend this Christmas and has released a Christmas tree made of 300 colorful squares covering a 3.20 meter high iron structure. The initiative has been made possible thanks to the association Grup de Dones de Salou, which has had the collaboration of the City Council and several merchants in the area.
The Squid Festival, a tradition that breaks records
One of the most genuine traditions of Salou, which connects the municipality with its seafaring past, is undoubtedly the Squid Festival, which has been organised every year, for 49 editions, by the Salou Yacht Club. In addition, the 2024 Squid Festival has broken all records with the capture of 731 squid and a total weight of 153,586 kg of cephalopods.
Music and colour at the Christmas lights switch-on
The Christmas lights switch-on is always a good time to enjoy Salou with the family, thanks to the music and colour show organised by the Town Hall. The chosen location is the central roundabout at the intersection of Barcelona Street and Via Roma, where a splendid 12-metre-high tree is installed, all made of LED lights, and crowned by a large star.
