La Torre Vella hosts a tribute sample of 30 years of photography of Enric Pàmies

Salou. Costa Dorada. 24 April 2016. La Torre Vella of Salou hosts until May 21 the exhibition 30 years photograph of the artist Enric Pàmies. This is a photographic exhibition where you can see several snapshots that the author was picking up along its trajectory, especially between 1953-1983.

The exhibition presents the careful choice made by the author of his most representative works and presents the wide range of his photographic vision of traditional themes with images of places very close to Salou, combined with images of more distant places. It also takes a look at other works that what is important is not the location but the most creative and inspiring aspect of the images.

Within the circles of Catalan photography and the rest of the world, Enric Pàmies was well known for absolute dedication during a very long period of his life to the revitalization and address various photographic projects. Thus, in the late fifties of the last century he helped organize a national hall of sports photography that was the embryo of what would become the International Biennial of Photography of Sport, FOTOSPORT, which he created in 1970 and curated until 2000 and that are still present in the international calendar of photography salons. He also led and directed the Biennials Europe 1973-1993.

But what was best known worldwide in the field of photography is to have been linked as representing the state in the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) since 1974, which led to the creation of the Spanish Confederation of Photography (CEF) first, and later of the Catalan Federation of Photography (FCF). This link with the FIAP supposed to be his vice president from 1985 to 1995 and then president from 1995 to 1999.

All this work of photography impulse led him many awards and in photography for activity propaimente said, Pàmies participated in 43 solo exhibitions and 60 group, exhibiting his works at the state level and abroad. He also was awarded 23 titles, appointment of member of honor, medals or plaques in the State and with 9 more abroad, 15 of which granted by photographic federations. Enric Pàmies and Carreté died on December 31, 2014.

The exhibition in Salou can be visited from Monday to Saturday from 18 to 21 hours. Admission is free. On Sundays and holidays the Torre Vella is closed.
