Tarragona, Cambrils and Vendrell participate in the II Campaign to promote trade in old town centers

Tarragona. Cambrils. El Vendrell. Costa Dorada. 29th May 2012. The year 2007 was established with Neighbourhood Projects Network, a platform bringing together all the municipalities that were in place comprehensive regeneration programs, beneficiaries of grants from the Neighbourhood Act. In this network technicians were incorporated municipalities in subsequent calls, 470 professionals to integrate. The Network's main objective to serve as common ground for exchange of experience and is divided into several sub-grouping municipalities with common characteristics, such as old villages or neighborhoods with the river. The first subnet is created was of the old quarters and, as the revitalization of local commerce is a priority shared by all, it was decided that their first joint action would be to launch a campaign in this sense. The ultimate aim was to help recover the old quarters where they have always been central shopping and return to being a leader of the social life of municipalities. More than double the shops involved The first edition of this campaign took place during June and July last year, led by the City of El Vendrell, with eight participating municipalities and 694 establishments, which were distributed to 1565 shopping bags with wheels. Now in its second edition, 11 municipalities and 12 districts participate: Barceloneta and Raval South Barcelona Besalú, Cambrils, El Vendrell, La Bisbal d´ Emporda, La Selva del Camp, Lleida, Sant Feliu de Codines; Solsona; Tarragona, and Torelló. In total, 954 Catalonian businesses to get involved with this initiative. The campaign is to draw a lot of products from all the people who have bought into the establishments in the campaign in each town, identified by a common sign. The purchase period will be from 1 to June 22 and the gift set will be composed by a selection of products provided by the merchants of each quarter, whether food products typical of the town, tickets for cultural events and dining experiences at restaurants neighborhood. Each municipality drawn a lot of common products which are added other gifts contributed by each district.
