Salou City Council is strengthening its commitment to inclusion with the installation of a pergola that provides shade, making its assisted bathing service more comfortable. This summer, Llevant and Ponent beaches will both feature this improvement for people with reduced mobility.
The structure is already in operation at Llevant Beach, near Plaça de les Comunitats Autònomes and next to the Lifeguard and Rescue Station. Meanwhile, Ponent Beach will be equipped with the same structure imminently. The assisted bathing service is completely free of charge, requires no prior reservation, and is available to the public daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. To help speed up the process, visitors may notify the service of their planned visit by calling +34 657 81 80 23.
To ensure the easiest possible access from private vehicles, the area includes a designated parking space for people with disabilities, directly connected to the beach. From there, a wooden walkway extends almost all the way to the water, ensuring that everyone can reach the bathing area as comfortably as possible.
Once in the sea, users are free to choose whether they would like assistance or prefer to enjoy the water independently or with a companion. Up to four lifeguards are available to provide support, including the use of amphibious wheelchairs, allowing those who wish to enter the water safely and without difficulty.
