Salou. Costa Dorada. The Councillor of Tourism of the City of Salou, Alberto Rubio del Hierro, received yesterday the flags of the system Q for Quality Tourism for the beaches east and west of Salou in a ceremony held at the Ministry of Industry , Tourism and Trade. The awards ceremony took place at certified beaches at the Hall of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade by the Minister, D. Miguel Sebastian Gascon, along with Secretary of State for Tourism and Chairman of the ICTE, Miguel Miron. Sebastian was awarded accreditation to 152 beaches on the Spanish coast. The ceremony served to recognize the beaches that offer a quality system aimed at the tourist enjoyment. In his speech, Sebastian stressed quality as a distinguishing element of tourism to the country's tough foreign competition. And he defended tourism compatible with environmental sustainability. On 18 June 1130 the Mayor of Salou, Councillor Peter Tursime Granados and Alberto del Hierro will act raised the flag in the Plaza of the Autonomous Communities. These beaches already received quality certification during the course of the fair FITUR in late January of 2009 and be valid throughout 2010. We also have ISO certification for environmental 14.001:2004 Levante Beach and the Blue Flag.
