Cambrils. Costa Dorada. Saturday 2 April at 9 am will kick off the Championship of Catalonia Raids Mountain Sports (FEEC). The event will be the first test the Cup in 2011 and is the new wide range of categories so that all the athletes run to their level. CATEGORIES This year the race presents the Family category, designed so that parents can enjoy the adventure with their minor children. It will be a short distance of 2km walk over 6km bike, but very flat and with evidence of climbing and archery. The next category is the Introduction, intended for novice adults who enjoy around Cambrils at 22km in a short circuit which combines mountain biking, orientation, race walking, kayaking and climbing.   At a higher level because we have the Adventure category, designed for teams who play different disciplines, but they lack experience in adventure raids. The course increases as 48 km and 900m of ascent. Besides the bike, climbing, kayaking orientation, will also have a section of trekking.   And the queen will be the elite category, which will participate in three ways: teams of 3 riders (Catalan Cup), two teams of runners or individually. This category is reserved for riders with experience and good physical condition because they must confront 2.500m and 75km of ascent in just over 8h race. Added the disciplines of caving, abseiling and a second trek.   DISCIPLINES The race combines different disciplines of adventure, taking into account the adjustment of each sector to the level of athletes. Apart from the more traditional disciplines like mountain biking, trekking and target, the Raid of Cambrils adds disciplines such as sea kayaking, archery, climbing and novelty, Bike & Run: The teams have progressed but only one bike, so the strategy becomes crucial.   LOCATIONS The race uses the municipal sports facilities for their tour of Cambrils. Thus, the start and finish will be at the athletics track, climbing will be the new climbing wall and archery, Archery Club. Much of the routes of the categories of beginner and family cycling routes will use the core of Cambrils and neighboring municipalities. The sea kayak reserve it for beaches.   PARTICIPATION With just one week to close registration, the success of the X-Raid Race Cambrils consolidated after the first two editions with good weather with nearly 60 teams registered. The expectations are close entries before the weekend, once we get to 90 or 100 computers. Team level, we have a great thickness in initiation and adventure category, followed by family il'elit. Being Championship of Catalonia, we ensure that the strongest elite teams of Catalonia will be present, ensuring a high level sport. By origin, mention the teams of Huesca, Navarra, Alicante, Valencia and Zaragoza, as well as throughout Catalonia. Noteworthy is the high participation of female raiders, almost 30% of all runners.   PRESS The organization has an own production to provide TV and photo images in the media stakeholders, along with press releases. Sunday 3 April sent a press release with photos of the race and the evening will be mounted and mount images if some TV's request.
