Salou. Costa Dorada. 04 December 2022. The intersection of Carrer Barcelona and Via Roma, where the Christmas tree is traditionally located in Salou, was filled on the afternoon of Friday, December 2, 2022, with a multitude of Salou residents who took part in the act of lighting, which was celebrated with a great show and with a lot of rhythm.

The event began with the interpretation of various carols by the Cor Encantats and the Cor Infantil i Mitjà de l’Escola Municipal de Música de Salou (EMMS), who offered the most traditional part.

Afterwards, the music and choreography took center stage until the mayor, Pere Granados, the councilor for Economic Stimulation, Hèctor Maiquez, and the councilor for Children, Julia Gómez, took the stage. They were the ones in charge of pushing the button that turned on all the Christmas lights.

The Christmas lights, which will be open every afternoon from seven to twelve until next January six, are distributed along the main streets of the old town and the commercial area.

A set of decorative figures has also been placed in the streets of the center (Via Augusta, Barcelona streets, Via Roma, Ciutat de Reus, Espigó del Moll, Onze de Setembre, Sant Jordi and Bonet squares) and two passable elements in the Plaça Bonet and in the Municipal Market area.

In addition, every afternoon, at seven o'clock, the tree will offer a different show of lights and colors, with classic pop and Christmas music.

The lighting party continued with choreography by Michael Jackson, with fireworks and confetti, with colored lights in the hands of children and with lots of rhythm and dancing that everyone celebrated.

With this event, Salou has not only welcomed Christmas but also a week and a festive period in which it expects to have a good level of employment in the establishments that remain open and with good recreational and commercial activity.
