Coca-Cola Initiative for sustainability and cleanliness of the coast

Salou. Costa Dorada. 16 July 2018. The Coca-Cola firm has presented in Salou its "Mars Circulars" project, an ambitious initiative that aims to create a sustainability strategy by cleaning the coast and the seabed. The plan includes the recovery of natural spaces, the prevention with awareness campaigns and citizen awareness, and the generation of scientific studies and circular economics.

Mares Circulares is born with the ambition to go beyond a massive collection of packaging, this is a campaign that seeks citizen awareness and the generation of data and studies in the field of circular economics that can contribute to the development of new initiatives in the future.

The project has the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, through the General Secretariat of Fisheries, the Chelonia Association, the Ecomar Foundation and the Vertidos Cero Association. It also contemplates civil and citizen collaboration through more than 100 public and private bodies between town halls, NGOs, universities and associations.

In Catalonia, it has the collaboration of the City councils of Calella, Mataró, Palamós, Torroella de Montgrí, Cambrils, Deltebre, El Vendrell and Salou, among others.
