The new tax has become a very reliable way to know in detail what the municipalities with greater tourist activity are system and, as the funds raised during the second quarter of 2013, is the fourth Cambrils tourist town in Catalonia, only behind Barcelona, Salou and Lloret de Mar.
So far, the City of Cambrils received by the tourist rate euros 80 173, corresponding to the first two quarters of 2013 amount, but, still pending, will be more substantial settlement in the third quarter.
As to the period already paid 2013 (until 15 June), Cambrils had 971,481 overnight stays and a total of 253.712 arrivals. The 41.12 % of the overnight stays were in hotels, campsites and 46 % at 11, 97% in apartments. The average occupancy rate was 45.67 % on 11.554 open squares.
According to the Centre for Tourism Studies, Cambrils has a total of 18,741 beds, 34.73 % of which are hotel beds, 46% of camping and 18.65% of apartments.
Cambrils pioneer
Regarding the management of the residence tax, Cambrils has been one of the local pioneers in the creation of a work table built by the municipality through the Municipal Tourism and representatives of different business sectors related to the accommodation of operate in the town.
The body has been formalized with the signing of the agreement between Cambrils Tourist Board and representatives of the Business Federation of Hotels and Tourism of the Province of Tarragona, Salou Cambrils Hotel Association La Pineda, the Association of Family Hotels in Cambrils Grouping Camp of Cambrils and the Association of Tourist Apartments Cambrils.
Tourist tax
By Act 5/2012 , of 20 March , the Parliament of Catalonia created the tax stays in tourist establishments. The tax, known as the tourist tax, is a mechanism to finance tourism policies to improve the competitiveness of Catalonia as a tourist destination and aims to nurture the fund for the promotion of tourism.
The tax applies to overnight stays, with a maximum of 7 nights per person per year. The tax does not apply to children under 16 years.
