So, to whet your appetite, Salou.com is sharing the latest developments in the capital of the Costa Daurada so you can make the most of its beaches and its gastronomic, cultural, and festive offerings. Let's get started!
Salou is committed to offering year-round, higher-quality work
Salou City Council has been working for some time to ensure that tourism can offer more and higher-quality work in the municipality. The strategy to achieve this ambitious goal involves above all diversification and innovation. It is precisely in this field that Salou has taken a further step, joining a pilot project of the State Secretariat for Tourism, through

Music and colour at the Christmas lights switch-on
The Christmas lights switch-on is always a good time to enjoy Salou with the family, thanks to the music and colour show organised by the Town Hall. The chosen location is the central roundabout at the intersection of Barcelona Street and Via Roma, where a splendid 12-metre-high tree is installed, all made of LED lights, and crowned by a large star.

One of the tourist attractions in Salou is the 'trenet' or tourist train, a train that transits through the main attractions of the capital of the Costa Dorada.
The tourist train offers one route in winter only in the morning and, in summer, two routes with different stops that allow to enjoy the coastal landscape of Salou and to discover the buildings and the most emblematic places of the municipality. Prices and schedule here.
Salou commemorates its history by recovering its Population Charter of 1194
Salou has a long history, not only because of the Iberian remains (town of La Cella) or Romans (villa de Barenys) that can be visited but also because it has Population Charter since 1194. No less than 830 years since King Alfonso II of Aragon granted this founding document and that is why Salou has remembered this anniversary with various acts.
