Reus celebrates the Fair of Sant Jaume 2011 from 22 to 24 July

Reus. Costa Dorada. Once again, the Municipal Tourism and Commerce of Reus organizes the traditional Fair of Santiago, a fun and festive event which this year celebrates the 668th anniversary since it was in 1343 when King Pere III gave Reus grant to organize the fair. By organizing this event, the Trust keeps alive one of the oldest traditions of the city and at the same time positioning itself as "Fair Reus night" where citizens and visitors can enjoy an extensive program of activities for all ages and enjoy dinner al fresco. Fair Park has a year of the Festival and continue with the model's fair where the protagonists are the world of horses and dinner al fresco. This year the horse show at night was committed to the participation of riders from the province and the special performance of Sercamshow. The total of 40 exhibitors and are divided in 3 areas: - Tasting area, where the dinner area, stage performances and culinary exhibitors - Area of ​​the horse world - Area attractions for children The main activities organized for the St James Fair 2011 are: 16a Horse Fair It is the most important section of the Fair of St. Jaume. Organised by the Friends of the Lower Horse Camp will include the presence of horses from different farms and different riding schools in the region. During the fair will be a series of exhibitions, competitions and horse shows, riding to the fairgrounds. Besides the competitions, especially the horse show are to be held every night, and this year commitment to the participation of riders from the province. The show begins with an exhibition of children's Riders Club Hípic Castles Cambrils, followed by an exhibition of dressage and High School Club Hitpic Tomas Santiago de Cambrils, an exhibition and a number of western comics. Finally, the show will end with a performance group Sercamshow. The show will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Dinner of the fair of Sant Jaume Prepared and served by its own farmers and ranchers in the area, dinner is a way of promoting local produce. The race will take place on Saturday 23th at 20:30 pm on a circuit established near the Fair. In this edition of the race may be counted with the presence of a woman who made the circuit without a competition and in order to prepare for both women's races to be held soon in Riudoms and Valleys . In Reus, for the moment, this category does not exist even though the organization does not rule out that the combination can also be carried out in Reus in future editions. The race carrying sacks of hazelnuts is the first of three races taking place each year in Reus, Riudoms and valleys, and part of the grand prize UNION.   NIGHT SHOWS On stage located at the Fair, and as usual, every night there will be a different show. On Friday will take place in Havana in the traditional singing by "sloop" on Saturday at 22 am, will be the exhibition of dance (lounge, Latin, banner ...) by students and teachers the New York dance school in Reus, and Sunday at 21:30 pm there will be a performance by dance partner "Adrian and Damaris," teachers of the school of Dance New York, accompanied the group Emotion Show. Moreover, the fair also features an area devoted to fairground attractions for children. 2nd Night Race of Sant Jaume Popular race organized by the Swimming Club Reus lead with the Sports Department of the City of Reus, Reus Sport and Recreation, and the Tretzesports support and cooperation of local authorities. The race is scheduled for Friday 22 July at 21:30 pm and this year is a distance of 10,000 meters: The race will start and finish at the public swimming pools.
