Del 5 al 8 de setembre del 2024, Salou celebra la sortida del rei Jaume I des del Port de Salou a la conquesta de Mallorca. Durant aquests dies, diverses activitats culturals, esportives i lúdiques recordaran aquell moment històric amb el Mercat Medieval, la recreació històrica de la sortida reial, les conferències, els tallers i una regata, entre d'altres actes.

Encara que no ho diries a simple vista, Salou té un passat ... medieval. No hi ha vestigis de l'època que es puguin visitar, però sí sabem que el rei Jaume I va partir el 5 de setembre de 1229, des del port de Salou, per conquerir Mallorca als musulmans. Per això cada any Salou celebra la Festa del Rei Jaume I i aquest 2019 serà del 5 al 8 de setembre. No te la perdis!
