From January 26 to February 6, 2023, Salou will live an intense Winter Festival, the first with complete normality since the start of the pandemic, as demonstrated by the recovery after 2 years of absence from the Coso Blanco, to the central act of Party. Concerts, music, theatre, exhibitions, and children's and traditional activities, at the Salou Festival all the events are free.

The person in charge of giving the starting signal to the programming will be Eva Soriano. The comedian and presenter will star in this year's proclamation, which will take place next Thursday, January 26, at 8:30 p.m., at the Teatro Auditorio de Salou (TAS). At the end of the act, the fireworks at the start of the Festival will be lit, in front of the TAS. The entrance will be free. The doors will open at 8:00 p.m., until capacity is filled.

During the proclamation, the presentation of the pubilles and the hereu of the Salou 2022 Festival will also take place, which are: Júlia Ramos Martínez, Laia López Sordo, Hafsa Tahir, Yaiza Martínez Vásquez, Samavia Tahir, Elena Carbona, Raquel Domínguez Gómez, Lucía Maturano Lozano, Carlota Rojas Llauradó and Nil Frifra Godino.

The same Thursday afternoon, in the Europa Room of the TAS, at 4:30 p.m., you can enjoy the radio program 'Cuerpos especiales', live, by Europa FM, with Eva Soriano and Iggy Rubín. To access, an invitation is required, which can be purchased from January 19, at the TAS offices, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On Friday, January 27, at the TAS, you can enjoy the Night of Humor, by the comedian Miguel Ángel Rodríguez "El Sevilla", at 8:00 p.m. The doors will open at 7:30 p.m., until capacity is filled.

As for the concerts that will take place at the Envelat, it is worth noting: Emlan, La Pegatina, and the Festa Jove, with Danny Romero, on January 27; La Casa Azul and the Festa dels 80&90, on January 28; Dámaris Gelabert, on January 31; performances by local groups from Salou, on February 1; the Ball de Colles with the Nueva Alaska orchestra and the Atabaladors de Salou, and the Gran Festa Disco Colles FM'23, on February 2; the Swing Latino orchestra and the Coso Blanco Night, on February 3; the Selvatana orchestra, on February 4; and the Metropol orchestra, on February 5.

On Saturday, January 28, the parade of popular elements will be held through various streets of the municipality, at 11 am. Then the dance to show off the festive procession will take place in the Torre Vella in Salou. In this space, the mayor Pere Granados, together with the rest of the members of the Corporation, will offer his welcome to the entities and associations of Salou, on the occasion of the Festival, an act that will be enlivened by the musical group Blue Alley Quintet.

And on Sunday, January 29, at 8:00 p.m., the play 'Cafeteria l'Amor 2.0' will be performed, by the Associació Teatre group, at the TAS.

The Coso Blanco of Salou returns

The big day of the Salou Winter Festival will be Saturday, February 4, with the celebration of the Coso Blanco after two years of absence due to the pandemic. The show-off parade will take place from 11 a.m.; and the parade and party will be in the afternoon, at 7:00 p.m. One more year, the Coso Blanco will be broadcast live on TAC 12 television.

Likewise, the great party of the Coso Blanco Xic'S will take place on Friday, February 3, at 5:30 p.m., at the Envelat, with a performance by Pep Callau. There will be dancing with children's entertainment, and children will be able to take pictures with the club's mascots. At 6:30 p.m., the countdown will begin to enjoy the spectacular rain of confetti. Free admission, with limited capacity.

Other events of the Winter Festival

There will also be other cultural events throughout these holidays, such as the "Maleït Versots" performance, by the Ball de Diables Maleïts, the Folk Ball, with the Associació Sal-i-Ou, and the XIV Exhibition and workshops for children and elders of the Xarxa of Traditional Catalan Culture of Salou, on January 28; the XXXVI Trobada de Gegants, on January 29; the Balla els Balls and chocolate activity, and the Ball de Versots, by the Ball de Pastorets, on January 30; the sardana dance by the students of the Salou schools, the performance of the Panderos Ball and the parade of La Mulassa, on February 2; and the Correfoc, on February 5.

It is also worth noting: the Fira Xic'S and the Salta Xic'S, with new attractions and lots of fun (opening chocolate party on Friday, 27, at 5:30 p.m.); the XXIV 24-hour Futsal Tournament, on Saturday, 28, at 6:00 p.m.; the petanque tournament and the XXVIII Popular Pedalada de Fiesta Mayor, on Sunday, January 29.

Also, the story session 'Pantabrut, the monster manotes', on Thursday, February 2, at the Library; the IX edition of the 'Skate Party', on Friday, February 3; the dawn of grallers, the XVI Local Domino Tournament, the XIII Scooter Meeting 'Fiesta Mayor de invierno', the equestrian exhibition and the open day of the Club Náutico Salou, on February 5; the Diver-Xic'S area, in Xalets de Salou (02/02), in Cap Salou (02/03) and in the Espigó del Moll (02/05); and the Cinema Xic'S, on February 6; among other workshops and activities.

Homage will also be paid to the elderly, with a snack and dance, and with a musical performance by the Ruben's ensemble, on Monday, January 30, at 5:00 p.m., at the Envelat. The capacity is limited. The collection of invitations is on January 25 and 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the TAS corridor. This act is aimed at retired citizens and registered in Salou and members of the municipal associations of the elderly in the municipality.

On Thursday, February 2, another tribute will be paid to the older woman of the municipality, Angeleta Salcedo Garcia, at 7:00 p.m., in the Torre Vella in Salou.

On the other hand, on Saturday, February 4, at 1:00 p.m., the radio program 'Tot és comèdia' will be carried out live, with Màxim Castillo, from Cadena SER, on the first stretch of Paseo Jaume I.

And on Sunday, February 5, the Festival Mass will take place in the Church of Santa María del Mar in Salou, at 12 noon; and, at 1:30 p.m., the popular fideuá, at the Club Nàutic de Salou. Tickets must be purchased, starting on January 30, at the TAS offices, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Maximum, 2 tickets, per person. Also, the fireworks at the end of the festival, at the end of the correfoc, at 8:00 p.m.

It should be remembered that on February 19, at 5:00 p.m., the Xic'S 2023 Carnival will be held, for the fight against childhood cancer, in the Ponent Municipal Sports Pavilion.

Exhibitions

On Friday, February 3, at 7:00 p.m., the exhibition of local artists from Salou will open, in the Torre Vella, which will remain open until March 4. During the act, you can enjoy the choral concert, with the Eixàrcia Choir and the Ama Lur Basque Choir.

From January 23 to February 6, an exhibition on the festive procession will be exhibited in the TAS corridor.

And, from February 6 to March 6, there will also be the photographic exhibition 'Gent d'arreu: parroquians i estiuejants a Salou', with a set of 56 images, in black and white, organized by the Salou Municipal Archive.

The reusable cup and the purple dot

A reusable glass will be put on sale in the tent of the Festival, which can be purchased for 1 euro, thus avoiding the accumulation of plastic throughout the entire festival.

The purple and multicolored Point will also be available to the public, located in the tent, whose purpose is to inform and accompany the population in situations of sexist violence and any type of discrimination. This point will work on January 27 and 28 and February 2, 3 and 4. It will also be available during the Coso Blanco, on Calle Escaladei, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

In the presentation of the Winter Festival program, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has positively assessed the fact of "being able to resume, in its entirety, this Winter Festival, with the magnificent Cos Blanc event, long awaited for the entire population." He has also highlighted "the dances and concerts that will fill the programme, along with a wide variety of cultural, sports and recreational activities for young and old alike".

The councilor for the Cultural Services area of the Salou City Council, Xavier Montalà, has shown his satisfaction for "having recovered absolute normality"; and he has pointed out that "we have developed a wide range of activities to compensate for the two years of the Festival adapted by the pandemic, and to value the great effort and work that the Salouense entities do".

Likewise, the Councilor for Children and Youth, Julia Gómez, explained that "we have prepared a very varied program of events aimed at young people and children, so that they can enjoy the celebration, with great enthusiasm, and live again, together, the unique atmosphere of the Salou Festival”. She also recalled that "this year we have recovered the Cos Blanc Xic'S, which, each edition, is attended by thousands of boys and girls".

For his part, the Councilor for Sports Promotion, Daniel López, has indicated that "from the council, we maintain the pedaling, as well as the petanque and 24-hour futsal tournaments, since they are very well received by the population , year after year".
