Recycle on the beaches of Salou

Salou. Costa Dorada. 30 June 2017. Salou aims to promote the correct recycling of waste in the most affluent areas of the city by installing 100 recycling points on all beaches and coves in the city.

The works to install these containers have begun on the beaches of Ponent and Llevant with different wastebaskets of the three fractions: rest, paper and packaging. The City of Salou calculates to finalize the installation in all the beaches and coves at the end of this month of June, beginning of July.

In addition to putting the wastebaskets of the different fractions, the consistory will also install signage in five languages ​​to inform the correct use of recycling and to make a correct selective waste.

This action aims to encourage recycling and exceed the selective figures collected in 2016, where 22,596 kg of paper, 37,650 kg of glass and 42,540 kg of light packaging were collected. In this way, Salou continues its campaign "Salou + net", which came into force last May 2017 and improves the collection and recycling service.

It is noteworthy that in 2016 only recycled in the beach bars, there were litter bins on the beach of Llevant and there were only 30 points of recycling bins on the Paseo de Miramar.

With these 100 new points it is tried to recover the waste that accumulates in these areas of so much affluence and it is also recommended that the best waste is the one that is not generated, therefore Salou wants to encourage both recycling and containment in residuous generation.
