The first prize of the Salou Rally of Salou 2018 has fallen on Lunattic Restaurant, which also wins the prize for the most original cover with the creation "Costa Dorada". The winning dish is composed of "seasonal zucchini and mushroom cream, tempura of its own flower, Iberian pork cochifrito and ovipate oil ice cream and tomatito en rama".
The gastronomic activity was held from October 19 to 28. It involved about thirty bars and restaurants in the municipality, which offered a gastronomic route. During the Tapas Rally in Salou the restaurateurs chose to win the prize for the best tasting. The election of the best tapas has been made by popular vote among the participating public.
The prizes were presented at an event held this morning at the City Hall of Salou with the presence of Mayor Pere Granados, Councilor for Economic Promotion, Trade and Markets, Martina Fourrier; and of Manel Grau on behalf of Cerveza San Miguel, collaborator of the event; and the representatives of the winning establishments. The second prize was for Asador Córcega Restaurant with its "Fillet of pork stuffing" tasting, which consisted of "stuffed fillet on a bed of auyama cream bathed with boletus sauce".
The prize for the most original cover has also been taken by Lunnatic Restaurant; and the prize for the best service was for Asador Córcega Restaurant. The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, said that "the work done by the participating bars and restaurants is a very important task, since gastronomy provides us with a unique experience" . Granados also wanted to congratulate the winners for "the quality of service, since it is an added tourist attraction for the municipality, so we have to continue promoting with this type of initiative".
On the other hand, the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Trade and Markets, Martina Fourrier, said that "from the City we want to continue promoting this type of initiatives, as they also boost services and businesses, thus extending the tourist season in the municipality " Fourrier also wanted to thank "the collaboration of San Miguel, to make possible this initiative that is already a classic in the capital of the Costa Dorada." In addition, the winning establishments have been very satisfied with the work done and the response of the population during these 10 days that has lasted the new edition of the Tapas Rally.
