This week will come into force the new ordinance of Civic and coexistence that provides for economic sanctions to those who do not respect the cleanliness in the municipality. Thus, those who dirty public roads and / or deposit garbage outside containers can be fined 100 or 400 euros, depending on whether the action is considered to be mild or serious. In this way, the City of Salou has said enough to the incidents that are repeated on the sides of the garbage containers when it comes to the treatment of waste on the street and the accumulation of junk. This week has come into force the new municipal regulations-l'ordenança de Civisme y Convivència- which will allow to impose sanctions of 100 or 400 euros on people / companies that do not comply with the established norms regarding the correct disposition of the waste and garbage. The Councilor for the Environment, Julia Gómez, explained that "we want to end the incivil use that is made of the containers and the public space because bad practices make the visual environment degrade," he said. Thus, in Chapter III relating to the visual degradation of the environment in article 15 section 2 of the ordinance, the following actions are foreseen as punishable:

-Take, throw or dirty the road with waste or any object that dirty it. When objects thrown on public roads are likely to cause serious damage the infraction will be classified as very serious.

And subsequently, article 15 section 10 details the following punishable behaviors:

• Throw and / or deposit garbage in public places or outside the containers and wastebaskets, according to the regulations.

• Transfer the containers of the municipal waste collection service any type of construction materials or waste. The use of homologated containers for works when the extraction or accumulated materials exceed the volume of 1 m3 and subject to processing of the corresponding permit to occupy the public road will be mandatory.
