Terres de l'Ebre promotes birdwatching tourism

Terres de l'Ebre. The brand Terres de l'Ebre, managed by the Tourism Board Diptuació Tarragona, participated in the sixth edition of International Tourism Fair Ornithological (FIO) - Extremadura Birdwatching Fair.

Terres de l'Ebre have been present for the fifth consecutive year as coexpositors of the Catalan Tourism.

The Tourist Board of the Province of Tarragona Terres de l'Ebre has promoted bird watching. According to the organization, the show, which took place Monfragüe National Park, in the small village of Villarreal de San Carlos (Cáceres), was characterized by a significant increase in visitors profile eminently professional.

Thanks to this action, the tourism brand Terres de l'Ebre could connect and display its ornithological wealth operators as English Oriole Birding, Nature and the Norwegians Opplev NOF Travel, Renatour German, Italian Non solo trek Earth and the Belgian or Dutchman Natuurreizen Euromania Travel.

Year after year, the FIO has been consolidated as one of the biggest European events in the sector. The event, organized in collaboration with environmental and tourism bodies and associations, has the aim of giving value and enhance sustainable tourism and environmentally friendly. A total of 114 exhibitors comprised of companies, organizations and public institutions have announced their bid for both the professional and the general public. In addition, various activities have taken place parallel to the fair as a workshop for national operators and the rest of Europe.

FIO also has offered its visitors a series of seminars with lectures and presentations highly valued by lovers of bird sighting for the quality of its contents. The 6th Nature Photography Contest, the 2nd Meeting of photos of birds, FOTOFIO, routes, recreational and educational workshops, hiking have received very good response by the audience.

Continuing to promote the product of birding, the Tourist Board Terres de l'Ebre has given its support to the visit of Italian journalist and photographer AlejandroMidlarz to the Natural Park of Delta del Ebro which took place recently. The visit was organized from the same Nature. Bright, author of Birdwatching in Europe and published in 2008, include the Ebro Delta in its next edition.

With these actions, apart from assistance next month of August at the Bird Birdwatching Fair, BBF, the UK, the Tourist Board Terres de l'Ebre wants to continue the promotion of this tourism product, which already has about 100 million followers worldwide, a figure which in itself gives an idea of the economic and tourism potential that has the birdwatching.
