The Center for Promotion of Oil Priorat new tool for revitalization

Tarragona. Costa Dorada. Josep Poblet emphasized that the future center of cultural promotion of the Priorat of oil contributes significantly to boosting the economy of the municipality of Cabac and the whole region.

The chairman of the council participated in the presentation of the master plan of this equipment in a ceremony headed by the Vice President of Government, and when Joanna Ortega also attended by the Chancellor of the University Rovira i Virgili (URV) Francesc Xavier Grau, and Mayor Cabaces, Jose Antonio Robles. The presentation is framed on the festival in this town.

The project, supported by the Provincial Council, Regional Council, Priorat, and the City Council Cabacés URV part in a regional plan for revitalization, with the goal of creating a tourist attraction and economic environment of the culture of the oil. The center, which is expected to locate Cabacés provides a focus for dissemination of this food product, through an exhibition space, a shop, tasting room, a restaurant and a 2.0 space, among other attractions. Josep Poblet has praised the involvement of the University in this initiative: "It's great fortune that a university with an international focus as the URV much closer to our territory, with a clear commitment to public service." The President of the Council referred to this "major project" as a "good news" for the Priory.

Mayor of Cabacés requested the involvement of everyone to the center of the project continues apace, and stressed that the promotion of culture of the oil will be accompanied by the promotion of natural and scenic land. Robles thanked the funding and collaboration of the Council on this project "and so many other services provided to people." The mayor also thanked the support of the URV and other entities. The stay at the resort are included also the opening of the road link between Main Street and Calle Balmes, and a subsequent visit to the Wine Technology Park (VITEC) Falset, with the participation of the Mayor Falset Jesus Torralba, and the Director of Management and Development of Science and Technology of the URV, Sergi del Amo. In this equipment, Josep Poblet, Vice President Joana Ortega and other institutional representatives have visited the different areas of this center of reference with regard to research wine.
